This is my 4th year with SPS, my 2nd at SHS. Currently, I am teaching AP & CP Statistics and CP Geometry. 

I am also the Junior High Cheerleading Coach. I have coached gymnastics, cheer & equestrian for many years and I am happy to be serving at Sikeston!

My first two years I taught 7^th Grade Math at SJH. 

Prior to teaching in K-12, I have worked at universities in Residence Life & Housing, University Advancement, Dean of Students Office, and Office of Accessibility. I also taught Emerging Leaders and the Akron Experience freshman courses at The University of Akron (OH). I also served as the Disaster Program Manager at the American Red Cross of Southeast Missouri serving the needs of 21 counties in Missouri and Illinois for 2 years. I loved being part of one of the most amazing humanitarian orgranizations in the world and continue to serve as a volunteer and blood donor. 

In 2019, I got married to Alex Mayes who is an English teacher here at SHS. We have two children, Hendrix who is 2 and Hollyn who was born in March 2022 ! We also have 2 dogs—Abita & Fenway—and a bunny rabbit—Mabel. 

I have a lot of different hobbies. I like to travel and take my kids on new and exciting experiences. My husband and I like to cook and bake together. I am an avid crafter and love to take on new projects and create lots of different things for friends and family. I also freelance as an event and wedding planner.
