In addition to those, I also teach Introductory Writing and Reading courses at American InterContinental University (AIU).
Previously, I taught 6th and 8th grade ELA for two years at Perry County Middle School District #32.
I also student taught at Sikeston Senior High for two semesters (English III and English IV) before graduating college, and I am so glad to be coming back!!!
I am so excited to be part of Sikeston R-6 and I cannot wait to teach all of the amazing students who walk through these halls! I wanted to introduce myself by talking about a few things that are important to me as a teacher. First, communication is crucial to student success. I want parents and students to be encouraged to email me with any questions and concerns and to know that I will answer those emails promptly and with a solution. Second, collaboration is important to me in order to make sure students are success not only in school, but in their everyday lives. I want to work together with parents and students to make a plan in which students can feel that they are gaining the most from their education and that they are being prepared for their future. Lastly, and most importantly, I want to give my students support and motivation to fulfill the goals they have set for themselves in their own lives.
