September Scholarships

  • Deadline: Sept.15. The Gates Scholarship. Must be a high school senior, pell eligible, a US citizen or permanent resident, in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.3 Phase 1 of the application is due September 15th.   • Deadline: Sept. 30.. Questbridge National College Match. Top 5-10% of class, ACT> 28, and household earns <$65,000 annually. Apply online at Questbridge

  • Deadline: Sept. 30.. Coca Cola Scholars Program.  For high school seniors, this award recognizes students’ ability to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.   • Deadline: Sept. 30. Shout It Out Scholarship. Submit an online essay. This is your opportunity to speak up and win money for college. Apply online at:  Shout It Out

  • Deadline: Sept 30.. Niche College Scholarship. Niche is giving one student $2000 to put toward tuition, housing, books or other college expenses, no essay required. Apply on this link for your chance to win: Niche College Scholarships

  • Deadline: Sept. 30.. $2500 College Raptor Scholarship. To enter this contest, each student conducts a college search on College Raptor that is designed to present college options that match the student’s individual academic cultural, and financial circumstances in addition to exploring the true cost of their education. October Scholarships

  • Deadline: Oct. 1.. MASFAP Making a Difference Scholarship. For seniors planning to attend a private or public 2 or 4  year college or university or vocational/technical school in Missouri. Application is available online on My Scholarship Central. Complete the general application, click “recommended” in the Opportunities tab or search for it in the keyword search. Click on the application and then submit. 

  • Deadline: Oct. 13.  Missouri’s Cattlemen Foundation Scholarship. Members (student or parent) of Cattlemen’s Association. Apply online at MO Cattlemen Scholarship

  • Deadline: Oct. 15th. Voice of Democracy. For students who are enrolled in grades 9-12 and attend a public, private, or parochial high school in the U.S. Application is outside the counselor’s office.

November Scholarships

  • Deadline Nov. 12th. Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship. The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four year scholarships to the highest rated applicants in the 2024 competition. Ranging from $1000 to $12,500 per year. Here is the link to apply: Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship   

  • Deadline: Nov. 12.. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA or above.. The applicant must demonstrate unmet financial need. They consider applicants with family income up to $95,000, however, the majority of the recipients will be eligible to receive a Pell Grant.   • Deadline: Nov 17th. National Space Club Scholarship. The applicant must have the intention of pursuing a career in the STEM fields and plan to attend an accredited U.S. college or university to follow a course of study to pursue a career in the STEM field, with a preference for those with space related interests.The applicant can only use the $10,000.00 scholarship towards tuition for the 2023-24 academic year. December Scholarships

  • Deadline: Dec 1st.. 2025-26 Visionary Scholarship. Multiple winners are chosen. Awards range from $1000 to $2500 each. Applications are online at: Visionary Scholarship .

  • Deadline: Dec. 1st. The Hagan Scholarship. For high school students in need of financial assistance in order to attend college. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. There are several other requirements listed, please go to their website: The Hagan Scholarship to find the application and for more information.

  • Deadline: December 12, 2025. Kiwanis-Earl Collins Foundation Scholarship. For high school seniors that are active members of the Sikeston High School Key Club. .This award is $1500. Applications are outside the counselor’s office. 

  • Deadline: Dec. 15. North American Van Lines Logistics Scholarship. For students who are enrolled or enrolling as a full time student of an accredited college/university within the U.S. for completion of an undergraduate degree in Logistics or equivalent field. 3- $1000 awards. January Scholarships

  • Deadline: January 9, 2025. The Jackie Robinson Foundation. Must be a graduating, minority high school senior, plan to attend an accredited and approved four-year institution. You must show leadership potential, demonstrate a dedication to community service, financial need, and a composite ACT score of 21 or higher. Application is available at Jackie Robinsons Foundation.

  • Deadline: January 15, 2025. MENSA Scholarship. Write an essay of no more than 550 words explaining their career, academic and/or vocational goals and how you plan to achieve those goals. Go online to apply at: Mensa Foundation Scholarship.

  • Deadline: January 15, 2025. Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship. Competition open to all high school seniors who are U.S. citizens and are planning careers of service to the United States in local, state, or federal government. All awards are for one year. Download the application at: GWCF Scholarship.

  • Deadline: January 16, 2025. DEWALT Trades Scholarship. For high school seniors or current college students, planning to enroll or are enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited 2 year or vocational-technical school and planning to major in trade construction, industrial, motor/power sector, mechanics, or technology degree. Must have a 2.0 GPA. Go online for more information: DEWALT Trade Scholarship.

  • Deadline: January 17, 2025. United States JCI Foundation Scholarship. Each year $1,500 grants will be awarded to graduating high school seniors in the United States, who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools. They must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study.  The application must be typed and include a transcript, up to 3 letters of recommendation, and a personal statement.   • Deadline: January 31, 2025. DAR Scholarships. Application opens November 1st. For a list of scholarships offered by the Daughters of the American Revolution, go to DAR Scholarship.

February Scholarships

  • Deadline: February 3, 2025. SEMO Electric Scholarship. The one-time scholarship is open to any high school senior whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) are a SEMO Electric Cooperative member. You must have a 2.5 GPA and attend an accredited college, university or vocational school. Applications are available outside the counselor’s office.

  • Deadline: February 3, 2025. William H. Cooper Leadership Scholarship. This is a leadership based scholarship for undergraduates who desire to further their education in a business related field. One high school senior, who is a registered student at a participating high school within a First State Community Bank market, will be selected each spring. A fillable application can be found online to FCSB Scholarship to find a fillable application. Turn application into Mrs. Thornbrough’s office.
