Let me take a moment to explain how my website works. This is my homepage. You will be directed here from the SPS school website. From this page, you can use the left taskbar to navigate to other pages I have. I hope you find it helpful and efficient. I would appreciate any feedback about its use. I’d like to work on improving it for ease for parents/guardians and students.

Hello Bulldog Nation! Just a quick recap of last week. We were able to get through all of the “Back to School” information and have begun actually working in English! Yay!
Both the English I and English III classes received their quarterly book report requirements. They will be using the same organizer but have different book-length requirements. You can find them here:

My name is Mrs. Ware and I am the “new” English I and English III teacher. I have been a teacher for 13 years at Sikeston Junior High. I taught English/Literature for most of my career. For the past two years, I taught a project-based learning class called Innovator’s Learning Lab. Prior to Sikeston, I worked at Senath-Hornersville middle school for two years, teaching Title I Reading. I am very excited to be returning to the English field and beginning a new chapter in my teaching career.
I am a 1989 Sikeston Senior high graduate and 2006 SEMO graduate. My areas of concentration are elementary education and English.
I encourage partnerships between adults and teachers. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time you have questions or concerns. I can be reached at email@example.com. This is the best way to contact me. If you would prefer to have a face-to-face meeting, my plan period on Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri is from 9:36-10:25. On Wednesday, my prep period is from 9:09-9:47. You can call the school to arrange a time beneficial to you at 573-472-8850. I also am available before or after school. My hours are from 7:15-3:15 but can make allowances for assistance to students/adults.
I will be using Google Classroom to push out most work. If your student is absent/sick he/she can check Google Classroom to see the agenda for the day and any work that might have been assigned. If you would like to sign up for Google Classroom email summaries for guardians, please just let me know and I will get that information to you. You can choose how often you would like the email summaries. It will allow you to:
Review missing work
Upcoming work (work that is due soon)
Class activities such as announcements, assignments, and questions posted by teachers
I also will have lesson plans posted on my teacher’s website by 7:50 a.m. on Mondays. You can find my teacher’s website by Googling “SikestonR6” and clicking on the “Sikeston R6 Schools-Homepage. At the top, click “Campus” and select “Sikeston Senior High”. Next, click on, “Faculty and Staff” and then, “Teachers.” Looking through the drop-down list, you can find my name, Carissa Ware. This will take you directly to my website.
Thank you for the opportunity to teach your student. I will do my very best for them.
