Hello to all of my students and parents! I look forward to working with all of you throughout the year, but first, a bit about me. I am Sikeston born and bred, having attended the school system K-12. During that time I was a member of A Orchestra, Concert Chorale, and Chamber Choir. Upon graduating, I completed my undergraduate degree in Music Education at Culver-Stockton College. As a college student I was a member of three choirs, including Chamber Choir-Culver-Stockton’s premier auditioned group. In addition to choir, I had the privilege of being a member of the school Wind Ensemble under Dr. Trent Hollinger, as well as a member of the Quincy Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Bruce Briney.
Following my graduation I moved to Springfield, Missouri. It was there I worked as an assistant Pre-K teacher and Kindermusik instructor for La Petite Academy. I have also worked three summers as a counselor for Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland and Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri.
Now that I have returned to Sikeston I look forward to being active in both this school and its surrounding community. I believe it is every individual’s responsibility to help create the change they want to see in the world. When I am not teaching, I enjoy biking, petting dogs, and drinking coffee.
I hope you have had a wonderful summer and I can’t wait to meet you all!
