Biology I & Biology II Teacher
My High School years were spent in the small Wisconsin town of Platteville, attending Platteville High School. I graduated in 2001 and continued my education at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, MO www.culver.edu. Many former family members including my paternal gradfather attended ahead of me, so very quickly I felt at home. During junior year, I decided to study abroad and attending spring classes at St. Mary’s College in Twickenham, England http://www.stmarys.ac.uk/. After graduating in 2006 (yes it took 5 years, but I graduated with 197 credits!) I spent 6 years teaching before going back to school and receiving my Master of Natural Science in Science Education from SEMO www.semo.edu in 2014.
I began teaching at Sikeston High School in August of 2008. I taught for 7 years before leaving for one year to teach in another district. I am now in my 9th year teaching in Sikeston and I currently teach Biology I and Honors/Dual Credit Biology II.
I taught junior high science (7-9) in the Wellsville-Middletown district for 2 years.
I taught high school biology in the Ferguson-Florissant district for 1 year.
I met my husband, Abe Leach (firstname.lastname@example.org), when we were both students at Culver-Stockton College. We began teaching for the Sikeston Public Schools in the fall of 2008 and have been married since June 2011.
When not at school, I keep myself busy with a wide variety of activities. I love reading, baking, spending time with family and friends, and traveling. I aspire to be like Ms. Throop and travel the world in retirement, if not before.
